Symptoms can be different for everyone causing dry eyes, dry mouth even causing ulcers that can even develop in your throat and because you don't produce saliva you can end up with bad dental issues(so you need to brush and floss!!), it can give you really dry skin and chapped lips. SS can be more mild, causing dry eyes from time to time, or it can be a little more severe and cause issues of dry eye that can process to causing ulcers on your eyes. I don't normally go "out of my way" to leave reviews about products, but for Liquid IV, I HAD to leave one! I have an auto immune disease, called Sjogrens Syndrome(SS), that keeps my glands from producing fluids. Apparently liquid aversion is pretty common in elderly people.īut unless you’re sick this isn’t really worth it for regular hydration needs. I suspect this being in regular stores now is somewhat due to all the boomers getting super old now. So I sneak some of this into the one thing she will drink to maximize any water I can get into her. So like the gluten free craze I’m glad people being overzealous about health has made products made for chronic conditions easier to get.Īs my mother has gotten older she won’t drink water or anything at all anymore. I was surprised to start seeing them in Walmart and Costco. Like when they marketed the parkinson’s cereal bowls as a fun kids product. This product isn’t really for regular people, they just market it that way to try and sell more. Mainly people with chronic health conditions. So it’s really only needed if you are someone who can’t physically drink a lot of water, or someone who needs electrolytes replaced asap or you’ll die. It’s based on ORS which is for saving super dehydrated starving people. Carrying the water molecule within the larger molecule with them. And because they are so bond seeking they get absorbed really fast. Well here they’ve managed to figure out how to get the electrons in the molecules of their formula to be really bond happy. It doesn’t matter most of the time but for a few people it makes a big difference. It’s like how name brand and generic medications have one or two atoms different on their molecules. But the chemical formula of the electrolyte molecules in this product is patented because it IS different than what you’d normally get in say like Gatorade. It does work like sports drinks and magnesium salt baths. He’s got a muscle thing where he’s basically doing crunches with all of his muscles 24/7 when there is a flare up. Long ramble: I actually got recommended this product years ago at the hospital when my fiancé was having a major downturn with his chronic illness. But it’s only worth buying if you have major hydration concerns or are maintaining a chronic illness. /r/OutOfTheLoop: Current events you may have missed./r/explainlikeimfive: Simple explanations of complex subjects./r/CasualConversation: Casual conversations (duh)./r/askscience: Professional-level scientific explanations./r/AskReddit: General questions and opinions.Try and be objective - a product may be legitimate even though you personally dislike it.
